Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council will hold four community meetings around the region during October/November to bring residents up to date with Council news and to hear feedback from the community.
“A lot has happened both within Council and across the Local Government Area since our last community meetings in June this year,” Council’s Administrator, Mr Tim Overall said.
“In between the meetings, Council representatives have met with many residents and community groups and organisations to discuss Council initiatives and gather feedback. These community meetings will provide an opportunity for the wider community to come along and hear from Council and ask questions.”
The community meetings will be held at:
- Captains Flat – Wednesday 19 October at Captains Flat Community Hall commencing at 6pm
- Bungendore – Wednesday 26 October at Bungendore Council Chambers commencing at 6.30pm (following scheduled Council meeting)
- Queanbeyan – Wednesday 9 November at Queanbeyan Council Chambers commencing at 6.30pm (following scheduled Council meeting)
- Braidwood – Wednesday 16 November at Council Meeting Room commencing at 6pm
“Council will be holding these community meetings regularly in Queanbeyan, Bungendore and Braidwood and will look at holding meetings in other towns and villages as required,” Mr Overall said.
“We will be providing updates on the transition of the new organisation, the Stronger Communities Fund, the major projects happening and planned around the region and an update on upcoming community events.
“The community meetings are always very informative and residents will also be able to ask questions of Council representatives, raise concerns and put forward ideas.”
