MEET YOUR SOUTHERN Harvest producers

Queanbeyan, EVERY Thursday, 3–7pm
(lifestyle precinct, Crawford St, Queanbeyan)

and Bungendore, EVERY Saturday, 9am–12noon
(Anglican Church Hall, off Butmaroo St)

COMMUNITY STALL: Hosted at the Southern Harvest tent, there will be a space for community and backyard growers to come and sell/test their produce without the risk of a full stall. Bring your fresh or preserved produce, seeds, plants, cakes and more. If you would like more information email markets@southernharvest.org.au or come down this Thursday and have a chat.

This week’s stalls:

CAROOLA FARM   will have fresh organic free range beef and lamb and Hillside pastured chicken. Also fresh produce from the garden including fresh new season potatoes, tomatoes zucchinis, salad mix, stir-fry greens, celery, spring onions, garlic and squash. And don’t forget to grab an icy cold kombucha.

GREENHILL FARM  Check out Greenhill’s great range of biodynamic beef, vegetables and fruit weekly at the market. This week they have new potatoes, lettuce, rainbow chard, spinach, zucchini, cucumber, tomatoes, capsicum, eggplant, garlic, parsley and more.

BUNGONIA WINES   are back this week with wine, garlic and tomatoes. They produce high quality wine, vigorous plants and chemical free produce by following regenerative, sustainable permaculture, organic, bio-dynamic and holistic management practices. This includes the implementation of aquaponics systems as a means of producing nutritious food.

IDYLLIC HILLS VINEYARD   is a boutique, family-owned producer of quality Canberra District cool climate wines. They grow Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Viognier. Only the highest quality fruit is vinified each year and quantities of this fruit is also available for purchase.

ADAM’S PATISSERIE   sell a range of cakes, pastries and breads all made in Canberra. These include Greek Baklava, a variety of sweet biscuits and Turkish breads.

HROPIC’S SEAFOOD,  truly ethical and sustainable. They are doing their absolute best to make it to the market this week after all the holiday makers scared the fish away. The Hropic family have lived and fished in Batemans Bay on the NSW south coast for over 50 years, with a proud history of responsibly harvesting and supplying local sustainable seafood for seafood consumers.

DOTS HOMEMADE JAM   based in Wamboin, offers scrumptious jams, marmalades, chutneys and salsas made from local produce and lots of love! Dot has a wide range of locally produced jams, curds, marmalades, chutneys, sauces, fruit leathers and more.

BENT SHED PRODUCE   are back this week. Come to the markets and check out their extensive range of native food flavoured products, coloured eggs and fresh garden produce.

CANNOLI BROTHERS   are back with fresh baked cannoli, made in the Canberra region with the best local ingredients. They have sweet, savoury, gluten-free and even vegan varieties. What a treat! Can’t wait to find out if they have anything new for Thursday.

LONG PADDOCK EGGS   provide top-quality eggs and allow their chooks to live the way chooks like to live. Plenty of fresh grass, shade, leaf litter to scratch in, dust baths and safe shelter. Their current Stocking density is 185 hens per hectare.

THE BILTONG COMPANY   Locally produced Biltong and Droewors. These traditional South African delicacies make a super healthy snack. Beef is cured and air dried then sliced into tasty morsels. The Biltong Company products are gluten free and preservative free, and the chilli one is super good!! It’s hard not to eat the whole packet in one go.

RANDALL ORGANIC RICE   is grown on the family farm of Peter and Jenny Randall at Murrami, southern NSW. They grow a number of chemical free, tasty rice that is environmentally sustainable, and also sell amazing super tasty rice crackers.

THE MUESLI BAR    Different varieties are made up fresh each week. All their ingredients are sourced locally and handcrafted with the utmost love and care. Last week they had beautiful cookie jar mixes.

BEES ARE US BRAIDWOOD   have bees that live a happy life. Their bees forage and collect nectar from the flowers of the season, around the forests and farm lands of Braidwood, NSW. Bees R Us sell bee-keeping supplies, plain and flavoured honeys, beeswax, plus honey and beeswax inspired products.

DEWSBURYS FREE RANGE PORK   aim to produce high quality pork, in a way that is environmentally sustainable and gives their pigs the highest possible quality of life. They have a large selection of fresh pork cuts and cured small goods. AND they will be cooking us up a super ethical meat BBQ for dinner for market shoppers.
